Reconciling Ministries links Reconciling Ministries Network Reconciling Ministries Network is a national grassroots organization that exists to enable full participation of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the life of the United Methodist Church, both in policy and practice. -RMN Mission Statement The Shower of Stoles Project The Shower of Stoles Project is a collection of hundreds of liturgical stoles from gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people of faith from all over North America: Alaska to Hawaii, Canada to Cuba. The individuals represented by these stoles are active leaders in their faith communities – ordained ministers, elders, deacons, seminarians, church musicians, missionaries, educators, administrators and other gifted people – who have been barred from serving their faith communities because of their sexual orientation. This collection was created as a witness to give a voice to these faithful people, many of whom have been forced to choose between serving in silence or losing their livelihood.

www.moveon.org MoveOn is working to bring ordinary people back into politics. With a system that today revolves around big money and big media, most citizens are left out. When it becomes clear that our "representatives" don't represent the public, the foundations of democracy are in peril. MoveOn is a catalyst for a new kind of grassroots involvement, supporting busy but concerned citizens in finding their political voice. Our nationwide network of more than 600,000 online activists is one of the most effective and responsive outlets for democratic participation available today.
www.peace-action.org Peace Action, the merger of SANE and The Freeze, has effectively mobilized for peace and disarmament for over forty years. As the nation's largest grassroots peace group we get results: from the 1963 treaty to ban above ground nuclear testing, to the 1996 signing of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, from ending the war in Vietnam, to blocking weapons sales to human rights abusing countries
www.thenation.com The Nation will not be the organ of any party, sect, or body. It will, on the contrary, make an earnest effort to bring to the discussion of political and social questions a really critical spirit, and to wage war upon the vices of violence, exaggeration, and misrepresentation by which so much of the political writing of the day is marred. -- from The Nation's founding prospectus, 1865
www.peacefultomorrows.org Peaceful Tomorrows is an advocacy organization founded by family members of September Eleventh victims. Its mission is to seek effective nonviolent responses to terrorism, and identify a commonality with all people similarly affected by violence throughout the world. By conscientiously exploring peaceful options in our search for justice, we choose to spare additional innocent families the suffering that we have already experienced—as well as to break the endless cycle of violence and retaliation engendered by war.
